Hear the chilling theme song now.

Nick Cave and longtime Bad Seeds bandmate Warren Ellis will provide the score to Ron Howard’s upcoming series Mars on National Geographic.

Cave and Ellis provided 13 tracks including the show’s newly available theme song, which occupies a similarly cosmic electronic atmosphere as the band’s stunning recent album Skeleton Tree.

Described as ‘semi-fictional”, the series takes place in 2033 and follows a group of astronauts exploring Mars for the first time, intercut with actual scientists discussing the planet. It debuts November 14, but you can get an early listen to the music by grabbing the soundtrack November 11 via Milan Records.
