Drake finds a new enemy in another one of his contemporaries.

Drake released a handful of new tracks on Sunday’s broadcast of his Beats 1 show OVO Sound including one that takes aim at previous collaborator Kid Cudi. The song ‘Two Birds, One Stone’ features the lyric: “You were the man on the moon, now you go through your phases / Live for the angry and famous”. Today, Cudi has responded.

The line likely references a Twitter rant Cudi went on calling Drake and Kanye West fake. “The days of the fuckery are over. The fake ones wont be lasting too much longer,” he wrote. “My tweets apply to who they apply. Ye, Drake, whoever. These niggas dont give a fuck about me. And they aint fuckin with me,” he wrote.

Weeks later, Cudi penned an emotional and revealing Facebook post where he also announced he was checking into rehab. Drake has been criticized for attacking Cudi’s mental health issues.

West, who was initially frustrated by Cudi, has since extended empathy. At his second LA stop on the Saint Pablo Tour on October 26, he had the crowd sing the “beautiful morning” refrain from ‘Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1’ at the end of ‘Waves’ in honor of his protégé.

Cudi will apparently be out of rehab within the next week or so and plans to perform at ComplexCon in Long Beach, CA.
