The longtime fall festival moves up to this winter.

Austria’s Elevate Festival has announced its initial lineup for the 2017 edition. If you’re thinking it’s too early for artist announcements that’s because the festival will be held in its usual city of Graz this winter in March rather than the traditional October time.

Alongside the big news are some very exciting artists announced, with plenty more to come. So far, techno legend Juan Atkins will headline along with other electronic acts including Shackleton, Mumdance & Logos and Lorenzo Senni.

Jenny Hval will also be performing material from her new album Blood Bitch, which we recently named our album of the year.

On the more experimental side, Sunn O)))’s Stephen O’Malley will perform a solo set, as will Hungtai/Maranha/Ferrandini, a new trio including Alex Zhang Hungtai after ending his beloved Dirty Beaches project.
