The label will launch with an album from Italian composer Luca D’Alberto.

Berlin electronic music hub and home of the DJ-Kicks series !K7 have announced a new neo-classical imprint called 7K!.

Its first release will come from Italian composer Luca D’Alberto. His albuum Endless, on which he plays all of the instruments, will be released next month. D’Alberto has received accolades from Paris, Texas director Wim Wenders and Lars Von Trier’s Zentropa, among others.

“The reason why we chose to mirror the !K7 brand with 7K! is because this music speaks to the !K7 audience but it is not “!K7″ in the strictest sense,” label boss Horst Weidenmüller said via press release.

“But 7K! most certainly will mirror the world of !K7 in new classical music, as well as in ambient and experimental projects. We want to show our audience that it is the same !K7 dedication and spirit behind the projects, but that it is also something different.”

Alongside the label, they’ve teamed with Flux FM to create a 24/7 digital radio station called Neo FM. The channel will be dedicated to highlighting the new wave of classical music “featuring relaxed and experimental music and soundtracks.” The station will launch on January 27.

You can hear your first taste of Endless – not to be confused with the Frank Ocean album – and what’s to come from 7K! with track ‘Wait For Me’ below.
