The Philly rapper gets a touch of Japanese animation in the Yashxana-directed clip.

Lil Uzi Vert has just released the video for his track ‘Ps & Qs’. The track is taken from the Philly artist’s 2016 mixtape Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World.

Considering the project was a homage to Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, it’s no surprise to see the influence of animation creeping into this clip, in which the rapper plays the role of high school heartbreaker. He and his adoring classmates subsequently get the kawaii filter treatment and occasionally flip into all-out Manga-style animation. The video has been directed by Yashxana, who has previously been found working with Kehlani and Gucci Mane. Check it out below.

It’s a promising start to the year for the rising star, following the his announcement in December that he had been in the studio with Kanye West for an as-yet undisclosed project. The month before he teamed up with Gucci Mane for the 1017 Vs. The World mixtape. If he can just take a break from racing dirt bikes around Atlanta to build his career further, 2017 might well be his.
