Atlanta rapper 21 Savage snags a major label deal.

After a strong 2016, picking up an XXL Freshmen nod as well as huge acclaim for his Metro Boomin’ collaboration Savage Mode, Atlanta’s 21 Savage has finally inked a deal with a major label. It’s L.A. Reid’s Epic Records that managed to convince Savage to sign, and the news was revealed in a recent podcast with Rap Radar.

Epic Records is notably responsible for A Tribe Called Quest, Outkast and Future, among others. Savage told Rap Radar he signed with L.A. Reid, “because he’s black. He’s probably the last black CEO. Why not? He’ll understand me before anyone else.”
