100% Silk to release memorial tapes by Oakland's Nackt and Cherushii

All proceeds will go to the artists’ families.

100% Silk is releasing memorial editions of tapes by Cherushii and Nackt, two of the Oakland artists who died in last December’s tragic Ghost Ship fire.

The late US producers, real names Chelsea Faith Dolan and Johnny Igaz, were known for releases on 100% Silk and were both booked to perform on the night of the fire.

As RA reports, the label is repressing their since out-of-print releases – Dolan’s 2015 album Memory Of Water and Igaz’s Virex from the same year – with all proceeds going to the artists’ families. Both albums are available on Bandcamp.

Dolan released her Queen Of Cup 12″ on 100% Silk in 2013, and followed it with Memory Of Water in 2015. In her Facebook tribute, 100% Silk-alum Maria Minerva revealed that she and Dolan were working on an EP together, which Minerva says she will attempt to finish herself with the intention to donate the proceeds to Dolan’s family.
