Elastic Drums now lets you transfer your beats from iPad to laptop wirelessly.

Elastic Drums, one of the iPad and iPhone’s best drum machine apps, has upgraded to version 2.0.

The iOS app was designed by German duo Mouse On Mars and developer Oliver Greschke, and uses its own synth engine to create drums that are more malleable than you’d get with a standard sample-based instrument.

The free update includes several new features, the most notable being support for Ableton’s new Live Set Export technology, which makes exporting audio and MIDI data from the app as easily as pressing a button and uploading to Dropbox.

It also includes support for version 3.0 of the Audiobus app, which allows multiple music-making apps to work in tandem, and a reworked audio recording section alongside a few other design improvements.

Version 2.0 also makes a new sample kit available via in-app purchase, designed by Belgian turntablist DJ Elephant Power. It makes use of the sampler with loop function that was introduced in version 1.9 of the app.

Elastic Drums 2.0 is free for owners of the app, which costs $11.99 (£11.99) from the App Store.
