In April 2016, GHE20G0TH1K co-founder Venus X and Asmara of Nguzunguzu travelled to São Paulo to play shows and party with baile funk wunderkinds MC Brinquedo, MC Pikachu, Mano DJ and producer Yuri Martins.

After discovering that the Brazilians’ love of US rap ran deep, the idea for a mixtape conceiving “the perfect sync between the sound of the American ghetto and the Brazilian favela” was born.

The pair began working on a tape that fused original baile funk vocals and instrumentals with US rap like Lil Uzi Vert, Migos and Young Thug and the result is Putaria Maxima Volume 1 – a febrile 40-minute mix, which you can hear below.
