The LA-based producer returns on her third album.

Though Fay Davis-Jeffers spent the 2000s as a Thrill Jockey mainstay in her band Pit Er Pat, she’s focused this decade on FAY, a solo moniker that drawn comparisons to Timbaland by way of John Cage. Her newest album, Deal, is out tomorrow and you can stream it now.

While building off sounds developed on her debut DIN, the disorienting textures and sound design of Deal — built almost entirely from FAY’s voice — feel more vibrant than ever.

The album carefully balances vocals, percussion and synths into a sleek whole and though FAY samples herself into extremely alien arrangements, the rawness of each sound reminds you a human made them.

Deal is out now on Boomkat via Time No Place.
