The film features Don Buchla and Peter Baumann.

Following its SXSW debut this week, the Suzanne Ciani documentary A Life In Waves is headed to the Boston Underground Film Festival where the modular synth legend herself will speak.

The film follows Ciani’s journey from early beginnings with piano, to her work making music for massive companies like Coca-Cola and Atari and her work in new age music. It features Tangerine Dream’s Peter Baumann, musician and Ariel Kalma-collaborator Robert Lowe, Sarah Davachi and through archival footage Don Buchla, Ciani’s teacher and developer of her synth of choice.

The screening takes place at the Harvard Film Archive on March 26 and will also feature director Brett Whitcomb and screenwriter Bradford Thomason.
