The US experimental club producer moves to Knives for his latest 12″.

v1984 burst onto the scene last year with the astonishing Becoming N(one) EP for Paul Purcell’s
Glacial Industries label, and now he’s moving to Kuedo and Joe Shakespeare’s Knives imprint for his next EP.

Entitled Pansori this new release features five tracks that explore v1984’s unique take on club and rap production techniques – his popular remix of Que’s ‘Too Much’ that appeared on Kuedo’s 2015 Truancy mix even appears in instrumental form.

v1984 (aka Christopher Ramos) was the first artist that Knives approached for material as the label solidified back in 2014, and the EP explores the classical music he studied as a child, fusing it with contemporary club techniques and adding the unmistakable influence of anime soundtracks.

The name Pansori is a reference to the Korean / Filipino American producer’s Korean roots, translating loosely as a “gathering place for sound” but also referring to traditional storytelling.

Pansori will be released on May 5 via Knives.
