Everywhere at the end of time will be completed by 2019.

Leyland James Kirby has released the second chapter of Everywhere at the end of time, the six-album swan song to his haunting Caretaker project.

Expanding on 2011’s An empty bliss beyond this world, Kirby describes his project as charting the multiple stages of memory loss and dementia through his palette of crumbling pre-war ballroom music. While he compared the first installment to “a beautiful daydream,” part two makes clear this story does not have a happy ending.

“The second stage is the self-realisation and awareness that something is wrong with a refusal to accept that,” he explains. “More effort is made to remember so memories can be more long form with a little more deterioration in quality.”

Kirby describes “Stage Two” as the “point before confusion starts setting in.” We’re already reconsidering wanting to go any further.

Listen to the complete (up to this point) album below and look for stage 3 in September.
