J. Geils, born John Warren Geils Jr., has died, according to WCVB Boston. He was found in his Groton, MA home. He was 71. The cause of death is still unknown.

Geils led an eponymous pop rock band whose song ‘Centerfold’ was a no. 1 hit on the Billboard charts for six weeks in 1980. Throughout the years, the band opened for Billy Joel, the Eagles, ZZ Top and more.
