A flat pack for vinyl junkies.

Vinyl fans looking for a novel way of playing their records will soon be able to build their own turntable using a flat-pack kit.

Spinbox is billed as “a portable, affordable way to experience vinyl”, and includes all the components you need to assemble an all-in-one turntable with amp and speakers.

According to the company behind Spinbox, the turntable can be assembled from scratch in just 18 minutes. Its lightweight exterior is made from the same heavy-duty paper material used for packaging Apple products.

Apart from that, Spinbox appears to be like any regular turntable: it plays records at 33, 45 and 78 RPM, plays 7″, 10″ and 12″ vinyl, and you can plug in your own speakers if you wish.

There’s no price info for Spinbox yet, but the DIY turntable is launching on Kickstarter soon. You can sign up for updates on when the campaign will launch at the Spinbox website.
