But still felt “angry” and “embarrassed.”

Metallica and Lady Gaga collaborated to perform ‘Moth Into Flame’ at the Grammy awards earlier this year but things go quite as smoothly as they hoped with the performance marred by technical difficulties.

Frontman James Hetfield’s microphone was mistakenly switched off – which forced him to share one with Gaga -and as fans watched him throw his guitar off stage in protest, the whole debacle played out live on television.

Drummer Lars Ulrich appeared to take it all on the chin, putting it down to “a slight technical snafu”. Hetfield has now offered his thoughts in an interview with the New York Post, calling it a “blessing,” but explaining that he still felt “embarrassed” and “angry.”

“I felt embarrassed — I haven’t been that angry in a long time. When something out of my control goes wrong, I still get wound up. I’m sure it taps into other stuff from my past, but I felt helpless,” he said.

Hetfield added: “I agree, it ended up being a blessing because I ended up singing in a microphone with Lady Gaga — maybe even more than she wanted. It felt more like a real collaboration because of that.”

In other Metallica-related news, Korn have enlisted the 12-year-old son of bassist Robert Trujillo for a handful of dates in Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru to replace regular bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu for those particular shows.
