The two puzzlemakers form a new duo called 319.

Oneohtrix Point Never, aka Daniel Lopatin, has teamed with Shabazz Palaces mastermind Ishmael Butler to form the project 319. Today you can hear their debut track, ‘The Rapture’, through Adult Swim’s weekly singles series.

The track arrives after what has been a busy year for both artists. This summer, Shabazz Palaces released two albums and Oneohtrix Point Never scored the film Good Time, which won the soundtrack award at the Cannes Film Festival.

Though both project were originally known for their singular approach, this year has found them more collaborative than ever. Butler and his partner Tendai Maraire mixed artists from their local scene with big names including Thundercat and Julian Casablancas on both albums, while Lopatin has produced for Iggy Pop and FKA twigs and is working on David Byrne’s comeback album.
