Rockstar Games assembles a stellar cast of musicians to soundtrack one of the year’s most anticipated video games.

Video game heavyweight Rockstar Games has revealed details about the soundtrack and score for Red Dead Redemption 2, ahead of the game’s release on October 26.

The highly anticipated follow-up to 2010’s Red Dead Redemption features musical contributions from artists including Arca, Duane Eddy and Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore.

The score was composed by Woody Jackson – who also scored the original Red Dead Redemption, as well as Grand Theft Auto V – and features collaborations with Colin Stetson, David Ferguson and David Ralicke.

According to a press release, all of the “vocal moments” in Red Dead Redemption 2 are produced by Grammy award-winner and frequent Brian Eno collaborator Daniel Lanois. In addition to his production, the score features vocal performances from a range of award-winning artists that will be revealed on the game’s release.

Rockstar has some large shoes to fill with the Red Dead Redemption 2 soundtrack – the OST for the original Red Dead Redemption made the top 10 of  FACT’s 100 greatest video game soundtracks of all time.
