Motor: Nighttime World 3 is Hood’s first Nighttime World release since 2000.

Robert Hood is a pioneer of minimal techno, along with Underground Resistance partners-in-crime Mad Mike Banks and Jeff Mills. Inaugurated in 1995, Hood’s Nighttime World series has been a touchstone for techno fans.

As Hood told Resident Advisor last month, the album is inspired by Julien Temple’s 2010 documentary Requiem for Detroit?: “This once progressive city is now half gone. To make a new future, Detroit needs to look deep within to be able to see a new vision and thrive once more. As long as there is a seed, there is hope.”

With that lofty vision in mind, stream the album below, via Electronic Beats. Motor is out on September 17 on Music Man Records.
