Icelandic navel-gazers Sigur Ros will return in early 2013 with a succinct new release.

Last we heard from the band, they were carting their Mystery Film Experiment to Antarctica and beyond. Fans of their musical endeavours, rejoice: new music is on the way. As Pitchfork report, the band have announced they will release a new EP on March. Although details are thin on the ground, we know that the as-yet-untitled disc will feature three new tracks.

The news arrives alongside information about a glut of new North American tour dates for 2013. The expanded tour schedule includes a major stop at Madison Square Garden. Every ticket purchase of the North American dates will include a free copy of the EP.

The band’s full tour schedule, with the new North American dates included, is below. Sigur Ros released their sixth studio LP Valtari earlier this year.
