Lil' Louis shares trailer for The House That Chicago Built documentary

The Chicago house progenitor interviewed over 180 different artists over a seven-year period.

Lil’ Louis was a major part of Chicago’s house lineage, releasing one of the first records on Dance Mania before scoring a chart-topper with ‘French Kiss’ and releasing two full albums on Epic.

The DJ/producer has added director to his resumé with his forthcoming documentary The House That Chicago Built. Compiled from more than 180 interviews shot over a seven-year-period, Lil’ Louis has attempted to tell the definitive story of Chicago house, at a time when the sound is enjoying a renaissance.

Among the artists featured are house luminaries Larry Heard, Marshall Jefferson, and Frankie Knuckles, mainstream names like David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren, and Avicii, and FACT favorites Kode9, Ben UFO and Boddika. Watch the “trailer” below; we use that term loosely and you’ll see why. [via RA]
