Slam poetry master Saul Williams steps up for FACT Freestyles.

Slam poetry is something of a lost art, and Saul Williams has been at the forefront of it since 1996. Across a series of boundary-bending albums and poetry collections, the 44-year-old has become a deserved NY cult hero, once playing Tupac in a Broadway show based on his life.

In the video above Williams take us to Nuyorican Poets Cafe in East Village, an important landmark in the New York slam poetry movement and a place that help establish Williams as a wordsmith.

Williams’s latest album MartyrLoserKing is out now. Listen to Masego’s ‘The Noise Came From Here’ below.
