The “dramedy” stars Mad Men’s Jon Hamm and Thelma and Louise star Geena Davis.

Mica Levi has been tapped to score a forthcoming sci-fi movie from writer and director Michael Almereyda (Nadja, Experimenter, Hamlet).

Billed as a sci-fi “dramedy”, Marjorie Prime stars Jon Hamm, Geena Davis, Lois Smith and Tim Robbins and is based on a play by Jordan Harrison. Set in the near future in an era of artificial intelligence, the story follows an elderly woman whose new companion looks like her deceased husband and has been programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. Marjorie Prime will premiere next month at the Sundance Film Festival.

Levi most recently soundtracked Jackie, the Natalie Portman-starring movie following JFK’s widow in the days after his assassination. She previously scored Jonathan Glazer’s leftfield sci-fi masterpiece Under the Skin. [via Film Music Reporter]

Update, December 13: This post originally stated incorrectly that Milan Records is releasing the soundtrack.
