A movie about Grace Jones is set to be screened in UK cinemas after Picturehouse Entertainment acquired the rights to Sophie Fiennes’ experimental documentary.
Grace Jones – The Musical Of My Life is described as a “doc-biopic” that creates a “multi-narrative journey through the private and public life” of the singer, model, actress and all-round icon, mixing intimate personal footage with staged musical sequences.
Fiennes, whose previous films include the acclaimed Slavoj Žižek-presented documentary The Pervert’s Guide To Cinema, has been working on the film with Jones since 2005, reports Screen Daily.
Jones has starred in several movies throughout her career, including A View To A Kill and Conan The Destroyer. The Jamaican-born singer made her musical comeback in 2008 with the excellent Hurricane.
In 2015 she appeared in Gutterdämmerung, a “loud and dark fairytale” movie also starring Iggy Pop and Lemmy.
