Watch a sneak preview of Teenage Engineering’s OP-Z video synth from NAMM 2017
FACT gets a look at the synth that sequences visuals as well as sound.
The OP-Z was on display at NAMM 2016 in prototype form, but this year Teenage Engineering was able to show more of the synth’s unique features, including its tape looper and graphics sequencing capabilities.
FACT spoke to OP-Z lead software engineer Jonas Åberg at NAMM to find out more and get a better look at what promises to be even more popular than its portable OP-1 synthesizer.
The OP-Z has an expected release date of late summer 2017. There’s no price set as yet, but Åberg says it will be less expensive than the OP-1, which costs $849.
