Entropy is a show about the beginning and end of the universe.

Barcelona’s Sónar Festival has announced the lineup for its tech conference, Sónar+D.

The program is headed up by an “interdisciplinary project” featuring legendary electronic duo Dopplereffekt about “the origin and end of the universe.” It’s a collaboration with astronomer and cosmologist Dr. Dida Markovic, a team of scientists and coders and Antivj, who provides visuals.

Titled Entropy, the show takes place on June 15 at Sónar by Day, and is described as being pitched between a conference, AV concert and live documentary.

Artificial intelligence and virtual reality will be two of the big themes covered elsewhere on the Sónar+D program, with representatives from Google among the experts participating.

Other highlights inclde the Realities+D space, where attendees will be able to explore 20 virtual reality pieces, and Sónar360º, a new space dedicated to immersive 360º audiovisual pieces.

A series of workshops will also be held, with this year’s program covering DIY “maker” culture, sound design in virtual reality and the construction of analog synthesizers.

Sónar+D’s MarketLab will also return, with 30 different companies, universities and creative labs present prototypes and finished products from across the technological spectrum.

Sónar Festival, which runs concurrently, also has a huge lineup of music this year: Thundercat, Princess Nokia, Justice, Nina Kraviz, Soulwax and Robert Hood are just some of the artist scheduled to play.
