Stream Priests' Early Recordings LP before Record Store Day

Following their excellent Nothing Feels Natural.

DC post-punks Priests already had an incredible catalog under their belts before the January release of their debut full-length Nothing Feels Natural and now they’re bringing some of their first recordings to a new audience.

For this year’s Record Store Day, which takes place this Saturday, April 22, the group is releasing a bounty of their early recordings, which were originally released on two cassette tapes intended only to be sold at their live shows.

Early Recordings features tracks like ‘Lana’, a meditation on female celebrities, and ‘Lillian Hellman’, named for the political activist playwright of The Children’s Hour. Their track ‘Leave Me Alone’ is their own ode to Bush Tetras’ classic ‘Too Many Creeps’.

“I was very eager to have evidence of the band exist for myself, because I didn’t know how long it would last, and I wanted to make music more than anything,” says lead singer Katie Alice Greer of the band’s first tape. It was recorded in 2011 and the band continues to wow with each new project.
