Hear them take aim at Donald Trump on first single ‘Everything You Know Is Wrong’.

Black Grape, the experimental rock brainchild of Happy Mondays founders Shaun Ryder and Bez, have announced their first album in 20 years, Pop Voodoo.

The follow-up to 1997’s Stupid Stupid Stupid was recorded by Ryder and longtime member Kermit, who says they made it in four weeks “eyeball to eyeball”.

Today you can hear the opening track ‘Everything You Know Is Wrong’, which features Shaun Ryder furiously unloading on Donald Trump over a breezy rush of psychedelia and trippy samples.

“The world is in a bit of a state right now, and bullshit reigns more than ever, and perversely disguised as candour,” Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh wrote in a new statement praising the band. “We need Manc street sass, intelligence and wit more than ever right now. This album has that in spades.”

Pop Voodoo is out July 7 via Universal.
