The Avalanche Music instrumental series continues with JME.

Organised by grime mainstay DJ Cheeky, the Avalanche instrumental series opened with an acclaimed Wiley compilation, which looked at one point like it wasn’t actually going to come out, but eventually did.

That CD’s follow-up deals with JME, a producer and MC from North London grime crew Meridian who went on to join Roll Deep, along with his brother Skepta. His vocal track ‘Serious’ was a pirate radio classic in grime’s heyday, and he released several well-recieved mixtapes leading up to an album, Famous?

JME was also the man behind the visual identity of the Boy Better Know brand, and was on this Funky house thing before all you lot, as his long sold-out Tropical mixtape from 2006, with Skepta and Plastician, proves.

The Avalanche compilation deals, as ever, with JME’s own instrumental productions, which were often ignored in favour of his vocals. This CD, due out on June 7, aims to redeem this.
