Demdike Stare, the Lancastrian duo of Sean Canty and Miles Whittaker, have a new mix CD out this week entitled Industrial Desert.

The follow-up to the duo’s acclaimed Osmosis disc from earlier this year, it clocks in at 60 minutes and its tracklist is under wraps, though the sales notes tell us to expect “arcane folk fed through proto-techno wormholes, to exalted krautrock and the richest jazz, all infected with deep vein drone throbs and spores of mossy ambience”. To whet your appetite for their upcoming live performance at the Unsound festival in Krakow, Demdike have also put together a free podcast featuring music from the likes of LA Vampires vs Zola Jesus, Tangerine Dream’s Edgar Froese, The Caretaker and mysterious drone-techno outfit Suum Cuique.
