More as yet unheard Arthur Russell material is expected to see release in the near future, according to the New York Times.

“There are a few things people haven’t heard that I want to get out,” says Steve Knutson of Audika Records, chief guardian of Russell’s recorded legacy.

According to Knutson, Audika have remastered the original version of Russell’s ‘Let’s Go Swimming’ and plan to release it on a 12″ backed with previously unheard tracks. More details when we have them.

In related news, Strut Records will release an album by Arthur Russell tribute band Arthur’s Landing on January 17, 2011. The band is comprised of musicians who worked with Russell when he was alive, and the LP is set to include rejigs of – among others – ‘Is It All Over My Face’, ‘Your Motion Says’ and ‘In The Light Of The Miracle’.
