dBridge – Rendezvous

dBridge has put together, Mosaic – Volume 1, a new compilation for release on his own Exit Records label.

“With so much good music arriving in the Exit inbox it was decided that a various artist project was needed to ensure that it all sees the light of day and doesn’t get caught up in a never ending schedule of singles,” a press release accompanying the double-CD album reads. Apparently D-Bridge aims with Mosaic to represent “the more experimental side of drum & bass as opposed to the crash-bang-wallop which seems to be the only side portrayed by the mainstream media today.”

Exit was founded in 2003, and along with Darkestral and Nonplus has become synonymous with a sleek, minimalist but open-minded take on drum ‘n bass that’s cognizant of dubstep, techno and other genres besides, and is willing to borrow ideas from them. The new compilation upholds and expands upon that aesthetic, with dubsteppers like Scuba, Distance, Synkro and Skream contributing tracks alongside the likes of Instra:mental, ASC, Commix and of course dBridge himself, who turns in no less than three tracks (you can stream one of them, ‘Rendezvous’, above).

The full tracklist for the 2xCD set is below; selected tracks will also be released across two 12″/10″ samplers and a 4×12″ gatefold edition, details still to be firmed up. Visit Exit here.
