Gorillaz have announced the tracklist of new album The Fall, which is to be given away free on Christmas Day to the band’s fan club members.

Damon Albarn recorded the album on his iPad over 32 days when he was touring North America with Gorillaz earlier this year.

“I did it [recorded The Fall] because there’s a lot of time that you just spend staring at walls essentially,” he explains. “I found working in the day, whether it’s in the hotel or in the venue, it was a brilliant way of keeping myself well.”

The album, which Albarn says bears the imprint of America’s musical traditions, will be released in physical form some time in 2011.
