Look, we know the whole hipsters talking about r’n’b and DJ Screw thing is getting kind of boring, but that’s mostly because hardly any of them do slow like Physical Therapy.

Therapy’s edits of Drake’s ‘Fireworks’ and Alicia Keys’ ‘Unthinkable’ (the former transformed into the best teen movie credit sequence we’ve never heard through its use of Kim Carnes’ ‘Betty Davis Eyes’) soundtracked the second half of last year for us, and we even got to premier his remix of Holy Other’s ‘We Over’, the B-side of one of our Top 100 tracks of 2011.

So when Physical Therapy got in touch to ask if we wanted to give out his remix of another of our Top 100 of last year, Laurel Halo [above]’s ‘Supersymmetry’, we jumped at the chance. We still don’t know a massive amount about Physical Therapy, but we do know that this remix showcases another side to his music; those pillars of echo-drenched drums are still present, but with UK garage stabs subtly peeking out from behind them, before finally leaping out and circling the track’s climax.

Fans of FaltyDL and Jamie XX, this one’s definitely for you – it’s seriously sublime stuff, with those Timbaland samples the icing on the cake.
