Earlier this week, Slimzee DJed on Rinse FM, standing in for Boy Better Know.

We’re not sure when Slimzee was last on Rinse, but in grime’s infancy he was the undisputed king of the genre’s DJs, turning up to raves with dubplates and VIP mixes that other DJs didn’t know existed, let alone had in their arsenal. His Sidewinder tape, with Wiley and Dizzee Rascal on mic duty is so legendary that we included it in our round-up of the Top 100 Albums from 2001-2009. That’s how great it is.

We’re alerting you to this new Slimzee set for two reasons – firstly, because it’s brilliant. Obviously. Secondly, because Slimzee will be making a rare live appearance on March 11, DJing at a party we’re curating for Dollop’s Warehouse series. It takes place at the brilliant Citipost Building, formally Scrutton St Studios, in Shoreditch, and he’ll be DJing alongside Bulgarian house wizard KiNK (live), Autonomic duo Instra:mental, whose forthcoming album is sounding like one of the year’s best, and modern-day grime standard bearers Eljah & Skilliam.

For more details, and tickets, hit up the event page. While you’re doing that, listen to Slimzee on Rinse, from Tuesday March 1:
