Massive Attack and Burial have teamed up for a collaborative two-track single, crafted and released by The Vinyl Factory and Inhale Gold.
There have been rumours circulating about this project since some information was let slip in an interview with Massive Attack member Daddy G last year, but we can now reveal full details.
The single features two tracks, ‘Paradise Circus’ (a revisit of a track from Massive Attack’s last album, Heligoland) and ‘Four Walls’ (previously unheard). Both remixes – though having heard them, these are more full on upheavals of the source material than standard remixes – clock in at around 12 minutes each, and find Burial delving more into extended beatless territory than ever before; in many ways the natural direction for his music to move in.
‘Four Walls’ / ‘Paradise Circus’ will be available exclusively as a limited vinyl edition of 1000 copies worldwide, pressed on heavyweight 180 gram 12″ vinyl, and housed in a hand-numbered, gold glitter screen-printed sleeve [above] featuring artwork by Massive Attack’s Robert ’3D’ Del Naja. Fans can pre-order it right now through vfeditions.com – this has now sold out. The edition will be released on October 17.
