Liz Harris aka Grouper will next month embark on an exhaustive – and no doubt exhausting – European tour, presenting a new live work, Violet Replacement.

Unlike her usual song-based live shows, Violet Replacement is apparently “comprised of tape loops, field recordings and submerged atmospherics presented in a set of naturally resonant and specially customised locations…Field recordings, Wurlitzer loops and vocal tracks from her archives are mixed, spliced and processed live from an array of dictaphones and tape player.”

The project arose out of a commission from New York’s Issue Project Room, and has become Harris’s main focus after last year’s celebrated two-part album release, AIA, and accompanying tour. The full dates of the new European tour are listed below; all performances are of Violet Replacement unless otherwise stated.
