Stream Lana Del Rey’s Born to Die

Update: you can now stream Born to Die, Lana Del Rey’s debut album, in full [embedded below]. FACT’s review of the record is available to read here.

According to various reports this week, Lana Del Rey stormed off a French TV show after being quizzed about the origins of last year’s breakthrough hit ‘Video Games’.

The New York singer, who recently released her debut album Born to Die, appeared on Le Grand Journal for what she thought would be a routine interview and performance. Instead, the host asked her about the similarities between ‘Video Games’ and Greek singer Eleni Vitali’s ‘Oi Dromoi Pou Agapisa’, causing Lana to storm off – something that was edited out when the show actually aired.

You can stream ‘Oi Dromoi Pou Agapisa’ below; personally we don’t think the similarity’s too scandalous.

This isn’t the first story of this kind to break this week – on Tuesday, Zomby was accused of stealing the majority of his 2011 single ‘Natalia’s Song’ under the premise of the track being a collaboration.

dude what the fuck! I don’t see Lana del Rey listening to weird popular music back she was 20. Please give me back my FACT with interesting news and stop the bullshit! This is not the Sun!

  • rollo_helsinki

Pretty tenuous link between the songs in my opinion. The Greek one possibly influenced it, but it’s not plagiarism.

As for Zomby on the other hand….

  • Dj Surda

I think they are similar, obviously, but that just means that people has things in common ;)

wtf, sounds like she only translated the song. No problem with cover versions, but she should give the credit, when it’ s due!

  • Katinaki

    Vitali 8ea!

  • nikos

I only see the similarity in the beginning, then it takes another route. I’m from Greece and I read an article where they asked the greek composer and he said that she may have “walked” on his tune but it ended up beeing a different song and that if he thought it was too much, he would have taken legal actions, but it wasnt necessary!

  • Sleazy Wonder

Either the way you put it, that Greek shit so fresh atm.
