Jamie Oliver discovers lost Joy Division master tapes

Some of Joy Division and New Order’s lost master tapes have appeared in an unlikely location.

Holy Moly report that TV chef Jamie Oliver, of The Naked Chef fame, was excavating the basement of one of his new restaurants, currently being built in a disused bank in Manchester, when he (or at least, the people doing the excavating for him) stumbled upon not only jewellery and a “reasonable collection” of guns, but some original Joy Division and New Order master tapes.

The total value of Oliver’s haul? 1.1 million pounds. Not that he got to keep it; the chef has since had to hand over the findings to the treasury.
