Stream 'Swept Away', a new song by the xx and the clubbiest thing we've heard from them yet

At a recent gig at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre, the xx performed ‘Swept Away’, another track from their sophomore album Coexist.

Driven by a 4×4 kick drum and quick Chicago-style toms, it’s certainly the danciest track we’ve heard yet from the band, which makes sense: they’ve spoken of xx producer and renowned remixer Jamie xx having a more pronounced role in Coexist than on their Mercury winning debut xx. In terms of guitar and vocals it doesn’t stray too far from that winning xx formula, but the clubbier percussion certainly makes it stand out from the rest of their back catalogue.

You can stream fan footage of ‘Swept Away’ below, via Soul Culture, and hear ‘Angels’, the first single from Coexist, here.
