Frank Ocean, we can all concede, has had a red-letter year.

channelORANGE has, quite rightly, found itself slathered in critics’ drool, and Ocean’s famous blog post about his sexuality looks set to go down as an historic cultural intervention. Last night, the singer uploaded another long, exploratory blog post onto his Tumblr, this time digesting his banner 2012. As with his more famous missive, it’s at once intimate and oblique, stuffed with gnomic statements (“Love is all there is”) and anecdotes about the jetset (“I sat in the studio days ago with Jiggaman and Pharrell. Pharrell looks 19”). There’s also some A-grade whimsy : try “I wanna write a novel about twins” for size.
