No Pain In Pop continue to surprise and beguile.

For a modest imprint, the London label has a surprisingly high strike-rate. Spectral producer/guitarist Forest Swords remains the jewel in their crown, but they’ve also been responsible for early releases from Nite Jewel, HEALTH and a little-known lady called Grimes. They’ve stayed alert in 2012, putting out discs by monastic pop producer Halls and the excellent Vinyl Williams.

Back in 2010, the label dropped The Bedroom Club, a neat collection featuring tracks from the likes of patten, d’Eon and Pariah – all of whom have gone on to brighter and better things. As The Line Of Best Fit report, No Pain In Pop is now readying a second instalment.

The Bedroom Club II promises material from Dyymond Of Durham, a collaborative project between Forest Swords and fine artist Otto Baerst. Karen Gwyer, responsible for the impressive I’ve Been You Twice on patten’s Kaleidoscope label, contributes a track, as does Finnish producer Ukkonen. John Ola, Buffalo Tide, Ornine and Beams round out the tracklising.

The Bedroom Club II is due on January 28. Dyymond Of Durham’s sumptuous ‘Hunger’ is below.

Tracklisting:
1. Ukkonen – Five To Three
2. John Ola – bd
3. Buffalo Tide – Mädchen Amick
4. Beams – Reveal Secrets (The Processes)
5. Karen Gwyer – Tehe! Blah blah! Shhhh!
6. Ornine – Bantha Fodder
7. Dyymond Of Durham – Hunger
