Against the Clock is a series on FACT TV where we give an artist 10 minutes in the studio and see what they come up with. Past episodes have featured xxxy, Thefft, KiNK, Sam Binga (twice) and Artifact.

Addison Groove cut his teeth – and still produces – under the name Headhunter, but it’s his Addison Groove project that’s become his most successful, mining the middle ground between Chicago’s footwork and house / techno-friendly tempos before it was commonplace. After a flurry of singles on Swamp81 and Tectonic (including the inescapable ‘Footcrab’), he shifted to Modeselektor’s 50 Weapons label to release his debut album Transistor Rhythm. He’ll release a collaborative EP with Sam Binga this Summer on the label.

As well as going Against the Clock, Addison also gave FACT TV a demonstration of his live set, building music with his Roland TR-808 drum machine, a v0xbox and – honestly – handful of coconuts. You can watch that here.
