Turning it up to eleven one more time?

Spinal Tap creator Christopher Guest has hinted that the legendary spoof metal band could be back on stage in 2014.

In an interview with the Observer over the weekend, he offered hope that Spinal Tap anthems like ‘Big Bottom’ and ‘Tonight I’m Gonna Rock You Tonight’ could be exhumed once more.

“We get asked to do shows on a regular basis,” he said. “But what I will say is that we’re in the midst of talking about something for next year.”

The band, who rose to infamy through the 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap, last reconvened to play Glastonbury in 2009. Guest is currently working on a new TV sitcom, Family Tree, which stars Bridesmaids actor Chris O’Dowd. [via NME]

Earlier this year the official soundtrack to the movie was made available on vinyl again for the first time in 30 years.
