Frank Ocean has pulled his first Australian tour after tearing a vocal cord.

The Channel Orange singer played Melbourne’s Festival Hall last night and reportedly told the crowd that he was ill.

Event promoters Live Nation and Niche Productions gave a statement announcing the cancellation of Ocean’s remaining Australian dates:

After last night’s concert in Melbourne at Festival Hall, it was necessary to seek medical advice due to vocal issues Frank Ocean experienced during the show.

It has subsequently been confirmed that Frank has suffered a small tear to one of his vocal chords and has received medical advice that he must rest his voice.

Ticket holders for the following dates can ask for refunds from the point of purchase:

26 July – Melbourne, Festival Hall
29 July – Sydney, Hordern Pavilion
30 July – Sydney, Hordern Pavilion

Earlier this month he unveiled a new track, ‘Pray’, at a show in London, while a bootleg collection of Ocean’s rarities is also set for release soon as a double LP collection.
