Definitely worth a Friday afternoon watch, Last Call is a documentary about ’90s New York by Ruth Slinger, sister of New York DJ and producer Soul Slinger.

Soul Slinger, who founded the city’s Liquid Sky music / clothing brand, appears as a talking head in the documentary, as do house trendsetter Frankie Knuckles, Moby and more. However, it’s often the lesser known characters who have the best stories and most interesting insight, and one of Last Call‘s strengths is to focus as much on these characters as the banner names.
