August UK indie/dance unit New Order have debuted their first new track in almost a decade.
We’ve known new material was in the works from the band for a while, and now the first evidence has arrived. ‘Drop The Guitar’ was aired during the band’s performance at Lollapalooza Chile yesterday evening; click below to listen.
New Order’s last album proper was 2005’s Waiting For The Siren’s Call; since then, they’ve lost founder member Peter Hook (now dedicated to the task of trying to “fuck New Order over in any possible way”), released a number of live recordings (including charity concert record, Live At Bestival 2012) and dropped a collection of archival recordings, Lost Sirens.
