Montreal-based Electronic dub tinkerer Scott Monteith (aka Deadbeat) is back, sort of.

Back in the mid 2000s (’02-’05 to be exact) Monteith released a trio of records for Stefan Betke’s influential ~Scape label, all of which were essential listening. Not quite dub techno, these records explored the meeting point between dub and experimental electronic music, and managed to strike an intriguing balance.

Sadly for new listeners, they’ve been out of print for years, but all is not lost. The records can now be streamed in their entirety (in one shot!) over at Monteith’s own Soundcloud page (and, er, below), and there’s more. You see Monteith is looking to get these records back on wax once again, and he’s started an IndieGoGo campaign to make that happen.

If he can raise a paltry 6000 Euros, Monteith will repress all three albums – Wild Life Documentaries, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and New World Observer – and package them in a massive six-LP box set. If you’re wondering why all three need to be double LPs – well these new versions will include all the tracks previously chopped from the old vinyl releases, and they’ll all be remastered by Stefan Betke.

The three albums will be available digitally as well as on vinyl, so if you want to contribute to the (in our opinion very worthy) campaign, grab your wallet and head over here. If you’ve got the scratch, Monteith is even willing to play a private show.
