The Glasgow label plays outside its usual sandbox.

LuckyMe is best known for its trendsetting approach to electronic music, with key releases by Jacques Greene, Machinedrum, TNGHT, Cashmere Cat and the like. But while the label has released more than its fair share of R&B and rap-influenced club hits, it has occasionally shown an appreciation for Scottish experimental rock, with releases by American Men and Sevendeaths.

The label’s latest signing is in that vein: Edinburgh trio Naked, who sound more like Beach House than the trap house. The band, comprised of Agnes Gryczkowska, Alex Johnston and Grant Campbell, “mix cold, neon-lit beats, glacial bass and guitar sculptures, filtered under hypnotizing and ephemeral vocals,” according to the write-up on Rough Trade. Their debut, a deluxe mini LP entitled Youth Mode, is due out on April 6. For a taste of what to expect, stream ‘void’ below.

Tomorrow (March 29), the band joins Jacques Greene, Eclair Fifi and Mykki Blanco for RBMA’s A Night With LuckyMe. Previously, the band produced Blanco’s ‘Moshin In The Front’.
