Converse’s Rubber Tracks goes global.

Opened in 2011, Rubber Tracks is Converse’s Brooklyn-based studio space, which allows up-and-coming artists to record at no cost in exchange for having their sessions filmed by the shoe company.

Now, Converse is bringing the program to 12 legendary studios from around the globe: Abbey Road Studios in London; Sunset Sound in Los Angeles; Hansa Tonstudio in Berlin; Tuff Gong in Kingston; Greenhouse Studios in Iceland; the Warehouse Studio in Canada; Avast Recording Co. in Seattle; Stankonia in Atlanta; Studios 301 in Australia; Toca do Bandido in Brazil; the Converse Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn; and a second Converse Rubber Tracks in Boston, which will open this summer.

Interested? Musicians can apply online through June 24; if chosen, artists plan the sessions with studio producers. Converse covers the cost of most travel accommodations and select expenses. Converse is planning on hosting a total of 84 recording sessions over a 10-day period in September. [via The Morning Call]
